Difference of Job Satisfaction, Ego-Resilience and Intrinsic Motivation by the Cluster of Burnout in Play Therapists

Abstract

|
This study classifies clusters according to sub-factors of the play therapists' burnout and verifies whether there is a difference in job satisfaction, ego-resilience and intrinsic motivation among clusters. The results were as follow. First, Job satisfaction, ego-resilience, and intrinsic motivation of play therapists showed negative correlaion with all the sub-factors of burnout. Second, play therapists were classified into three clusters: ¡®well-adjusted play therapists¡¯ with low burnout, ¡®average play therapists¡¯ with medium burnout, and ¡®exhausted play therapists¡¯ with high burnout. Third, among the sub-factors of job satisfaction, in the working itself, economic condition, working environments, human relationship and among the sub-factors of ego-resilience, in the self-confidence, interpersonal relationships efficiency, optimistic attitude and among the sub-factors of intrinsic motivation, in the fun and joy, competence, self-selection, compression and tension there were significant differences among cluster. There is significance in point that this study identified qualitative differences among burnout clusters of play therapists which provided basic data on education and supervision to widen understanding of burnout and prevent burnout.
